Property Purchase Limit for Turkish Citizenship Has Become 400.000 USD
With the decision published in the Official Gazette dated 13 May 2022, the minimum property purchase limit for Turkish Citizenship was officially increased to 400,000 USD, with a real estate investment of 250,000 USD.
In January 2017, the Turkish government developed a new method for foreigners to acquire Turkish citizenship: real estate investment. At that time, the minimum purchase price for the Turkish citizenship program was set at 1,000,000 USD.
With a new regulation made in 2018, the minimum property purchase amount to acquire Turkish citizenship was reduced to $250,000. Due to the significant increase in real estate values due to high demand in Turkey, the minimum real estate value for Turkish citizenship was increased to $400,000 or equivalent foreign currency at the Presidential Cabinet Meeting held on April 12.
There is also the condition of declaring that the property purchased for Turkish citizenship cannot be sold or transferred to someone else for 3 years.
The decision was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Turkey today. According to the statements in the Official Gazette, the new regulation for obtaining citizenship by purchasing property in Turkey will be valid from 13 June 2022. The minimum property value for Turkish citizenship will remain constant at $250,000 until June 13, 2022.
